Sean (Patrick) Forsythe

Oh hey there!

A pirated copy of Macromedia Fireworks is to blame for all of this.

What started out as curious explorations making forum banners and avatars as preteen has evolved into an extremely nerdy love of craft and connection through design. I have worn many hats in my career - theatrical lighting designer, merchandise designer, muralist, graphic designer, UX designer, and creative director - to name a few.

As an instructor at a UX design bootcamp, I taught and mentored hundreds of early-stage designers from their introduction to design foundations all the way to their first projects with real-world startup clients. Being a design instructor is not a path I was expecting, but one I love nonetheless. I believe that design education should go beyond just teaching how to do things, but to show students the "why" behind the choices we make every day, and hopefully instilling a love and passion of design in the process.

Besides design, I love reading every plaque in a museum, couch potato weekends, gathering with friends to play Magic: The Gathering, taking long walks (in forests and in cities), and being disappointed and/or excited by my favorite sports teams. I also work part-time at my favorite local cafe so I’m not spending every waking minute at my computer.

Wanna say hi, or have an idea you want to work together on? Drop a line on one of the various social media networks I'm on, or use good old-fashioned electronic mail!
